THE 18TH ANNUAL BEST BOOK AWARDS ANNOUNCE 2021 AWARD RECIPIENTS

INDIANAPOLIS BASED PUBLISHER HAS THREE AWARD FINALISTS

Enhanced DNA Publishing Announces Their Published Authors That Receive Top Honors in the 18th Annual Best Book Awards

INDIANAPOLIS - American Book Fest has announced the winners and finalists of The 2021 Best Book Awards on November 16, 2021. Over 400 winners and finalists were announced in over 90 categories. Awards were presented for titles published in 2019-2021.

Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of American Book Fest said this year’s contest yielded over 2,000 entries from mainstream and independent publishers, which were then narrowed down to over 400 winners and finalists. Keen says of the awards, now in their 19th year, “The 2021 results represent a phenomenal mix of books from a wide array of publishers throughout the United States”.

One such publisher is Enhanced DNA Publishing, a small independent publishing company located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founder and CEO, Denola Burton, created this company to assist new and newer authors in publishing their books according to the standards of the Independent Book Publishing Association. Burton says of the Enhanced DNA award finalists, “We are so proud of each of the Enhanced DNA Publishing authors who were recognized by the Best Book Awards and are so honored that these awards also provide credibility to the work by the Enhanced DNA™ family. It has been an overwhelming experience to have not only one Enhanced DNA™ book to be recognized, but three books and since one book is an anthology, this represents twelve authors who received this recognition.”

The three books recognized as Award-Winning Finalists for the 2021 Best Book Awards sponsored by the American Book Fest are listed below:

In June 2020, when the world saw the unrest in America because of centuries of systemic racism, my phone/inbox/email account started to blow up. I began to evaluate why I was the object of these requests. I realized that I am the “magical unicorn”. I am that one black friend they feel comfortable asking these things. I even began to wonder whether those asking me these questions, knew the experiences that caused me to be able to respond without offending, with compassion, and with specific examples. My ability to respond to questions that just happened to occur to you, is a result of my lived experiences over the past 46 years. My ability to smile as you comment with surprise about my responses, “Oh wow, you answered that so well,” or “You were so kind in your response,” is a fine-tuned skill – that of a magical unicorn. It takes skill to explain oppression, that was in fact perpetrated by you (as in a collective “you”) without causing you (as an individual) to feel bad about said oppression. I hope the lessons I share will help move the racial equity conversation in a positive direction, because, I am that one black friend, sharing lessons from a magical unicorn.

The Desperate Housewives of Biblical Proportions chronicles the lives of the seven (7) matriarchs of Genesis as it relates to the promises God gave to Abraham when God separated him to create a nation unto Himself. Take this literary journey with me as Hagar and Sarah quite literally birth a nation, Rebekah's contribution and role in the destructiveness of favoritism and how comparison kills in the lives of Leah, Bilhah, Zilpah and Rachel. Discover how their leading men played major roles in their Spiritual and/ or physical relationship with barrenness. While reading, allow the Desperate Housewives of Biblical Proportions’ characters, experiences, lessons, challenges, disobedience and unbelief to challenge you to recognize your own personal and/or Spiritual relationship with barrenness. This riveting and exciting page turner will inspire you to begin reading your Bible while challenging you to begin developing Abraham’s, Hagar’s, Sarah's, Isaac’s, Rebekah’s, Jacob’s, Leah's, Bilhah’s, Zilpah’s and Rachel’s story into a series of lessons for your Sunday School, Small Group Bible Study, Vacation Bible School and/or Women's Ministry to show how their story is actually playing out in each of our lives today. I think Ecclesiastes 1:9 says it best, “…there's nothing new under the sun.”
